The Car

The car is a Fiat 124 Sport CC, built in 1974. It was turned into a tarmac rally car by Norm Singleton, from Samford, Queensland. It is currently prepared by Peter Axford and his team at Eurosport Automotive in Adelaide. The car has a 1818 cc twin overhead cam engine, developing approximately 150 horsepower (about 100 kW). It has 4 wheel disc brakes. It has previously been set up to compete in tarmac rallies, and to be a Group S Historic car. After much deliberation, we have bitten the bullet, and moved away from Group S, leaving the car set up for tarmac rallies, and log booked as Rally Car Other. It will compete in Classic Adelaide 2009 as a Category 5C2B car, meaning it is what used to be called "limited modified". The car's registration was transferred from Queensland to South Australia earlier this year. However, the registration plates have kept the same theme - OOH 124.
